About the Project
Synæsthetics is a neologism for any technology, especially technological artworks, that use sensory data collection to effect/affect future outcomes in various forms. Synæsthetic works are realized from sensory cues and extrapolated possibilities. These sense factors are shaped by data, software algorithms, statistics, or differential inputs that drive the complexity of these inputs to a live and/or recorded output.
Research on Synaesthetics was generously supported by the Humanities Research Institute at Brock University.
The function of the Humanities Research Institute (HRI) at Brock University is to encourage the development of research programs and initiatives in the Faculty of Humanities and to generate greater public awareness of our scholarly expertise, as well as the breadth of our research and creative productivity.
